Survey & Task
run.promenade.survey
Runs a study inside the workspace: a questionnaire panel that opens the visualisation each question is about, beside itself, with the parameters the author captured — and reads back what the participant did to it. A question can therefore be a task rather than a description of one, and its answer can be an element selected in a diagram or the state a filter was left in, not only a typed sentence. Nine question kinds, counterbalanced A/B blocks so a comparison is not also measuring which condition came first, and a response recorded with the stimulus and its parameters as submitted, so any answer can be put back on screen exactly as it was given. Surveys and responses are ordinary artifacts — a response is a provenance child of the questionnaire and of the log it was run against — and JSON export/import carries them between machines, which is what a study on more than one participant needs.

Versions
| Version | Released | Size | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.1.3latest | 16 Sept 2026 | 88 KB | Cosmetic: "New survey" is now "New survey…", matching every other entry in the artifact panel's "New artifact…" menu. The ellipsis says the entry opens somewhere to work rather than doing the thing on the spot. |
| 0.1.2 | 10 Sept 2026 | 88 KB | Fixes “Reopen”, which did nothing once the participant had closed the stimulus panel — a host bug affecting every plugin’s openView(): dockview fixes panel params at creation, so the opener a frame calls closed over the tab list as it stood when that frame opened. The runner, editor and New survey now declare dock:"right" and open as their own right-hand column instead of a tab over whatever you were looking at. Also in this line: the options editor is a proper draggable list (0.1.1) rather than one-per-line text that could not take a new line. Needs app 2026-09-10 or later. |
